Hello March!

Everyone is doing fantastic here in South Austin!!  I can’t believe it is already March…I am already planning activities for Tyler for the summer and hoping David gets into preschool next year.  Holy Moley!

The pictures are from one of Tyler’s t-ball games…my sister insisted on wrapping Samantha’s head up with a scarf then calling her names like Aunt Jemima, Erikah Badu and my personal favorite…a terrorist.  Then there is David who looks as if he’s bellying up to the bar after a LONG afternoon drive ready for his shot of 2%.   The picture of Tyler has everyone encouraged…my dad says his form is excellent, hips turned, knees bent, head down, shoulders around…just one problem…the ball is still on the Tee.  Ha…oh well, when he does connect, it’s a doozie!!  TGIF friends!

Nothing sounds sweeter…

For a very long time, I would not leave Tyler alone anywhere…not his room, not the bathroom not anywhere.  The fear of him having a seizure was all encompassing.  So he never acquired the comfort and joy of playing in his room by himself.  Over the last few months with school and sports helping his independence, he has become quite happy playing in his room with his lego city creations.  As I type this I can hear him giggling in his room…it is the sweetest sound!

David on the other hand, has always loved to play in his room…he would sit and look at books or drive his matchbox cars in the window sill for hours!! Hearing him rev the engines and crash the cars is also the sweetest sound!

I do very much love these dirty, smelly, rough housing little boys!!!

Mom-fession #1

To begin we must start with Tuesday…well checks for all kiddos…NOT MY BRIGHTEST IDEA!!!  3 kids in one TINY exam room plus 3 adults = MASS CHAOS that even I (one who doesn’t get overwhelmed easily) could not handle.  I vowed, as soon as we got in the car and my blood pressure decreased significantly, that I would never schedule them all together AGAIN! In this visit David got 2 vaccinations and Samantha received 4.  Needless to say they were PISSED beyond belief that day…well guess what.  They were still mad as heck Wednesday…and on top of that they appeared sick, you know the nice GREEN snot that even strangers who have children are repulsed by!  This brings me to my mom-fession.  Due to these infected children, I was unable to have my 90 minutes of gym time…mommy time…listen to some hard  core metal or hip hop while pounding out my anxiety, frustration, worry, etc. on an eliptical machine.

I suppose I am just confessing to being a human mom who, despite all efforts, is NOT always on top of my game and is at times…impatient with the pint sized creatures living in my house!

*I started this blog on Wednesday.  I am happy to report that by Thursday, David and Samantha were in much better moods and appeared well enough to hang with their party people at the gym again!  Which made for a much calmer, more patient mommy!!

TGIF folks!

Oh Pinterest how I love you…

My name is Leslie and I am a Pinterest Addict…

I was all set to beginning my first project… Simple IKEA spice racks painted blue to provide a cozy home for David’s books. Apparently, I am not the only mom in Austin that had this idea because low and behold, IKEA is sold out of spice racks and doesn’t expect any in stock for at least a month. I was again reminded of how I loathe IKEA…once you are in the store it is virtually impossible to get out, like herded cattle you have to go where the thick gray line on the floor tells you to go.  Lucky for me, and everyone else for that matter…my babies waited until we got near the end of the yellow brick road to start voicing their readiness to go home!

I think…should I go to IKEA again, I will go without children…and with map and with a buddy and with 5 hours to wonder around…and snacks for the long journey…I’m sure I’ll come up with more!

Happy Thursday everyone!! Off to pick up the oldest munchkin in my crew!

A fresh start…

It’s the beginning of 2012 and I have given myself a few goals…not resolutions…but goals. So to help my “blog more” goal…I decided to ditch blogspot and come on over to word press following in my dear friend Stephanie’s footsteps!

So to catch everyone up…Tyler is 6, has been off Topomax completely for  almost 2 weeks and is doing fantastic.  He is back to the vibrant, sharp as a tack kiddo that I didn’t know that I missed so much!  When the “you know what” hit the fan with his seizures 2 1/2 years ago, i was so thankful that those nasty things were gone I didn’t think to be sad for the spark Tyler was missing.  But oh how gloriously it has come back and that kid is just the most awesome miracle only God could have worked!!

David is 19 months and keeps me on my toes daily!  He knows enough signs to communicate whatever he wants and just in case you don’t understand he will oh so politely tell you in a tone and volume that you are sure not to miss!  Oh how I love these toddler years.  He has a smile that is contagious, a laugh that will make you giggle and a heart that will melt yours!  He is finally growing taller…he has been my chub-ster for quite some time…but those rolls in his arms and legs I will certainly miss!  He is another awesome miracle only God could have worked!

And last but certainly not least of the kiddos is sweet Samantha!  She is a wonderful baby that has slept through the night (thanks to my wonderful hubs!) since she was about 3 months.  She is almost always smiling and has the most gorgeous blue eyes!!  She has made many people fall in love with her…a skill I will have to help her curb once the boys come knockin!  (Side note: our neighber has a beautiful daughter that just went into high school and it scares the pee out of me to think that one day…boys will be knocking on our door, and standing outside on our sidewalk flirting with Samantha…just as I see happening with her!!)  She too is an awesome miracle that only God could have worked!!

And for me…this stay at home stuff is wonderful and hard at the same time, but I am so grateful to be here.  I am so glad that Michael works as hard as he does to provide for all of us!  I am so unbelievely blessed!

Enough with the sap…here are the pictures of those miracles I was talking about before 🙂
